A new publication of a new work! At long last we are pleased to announce that Caitlin Rowley's arrangement of Erik Satie's 'Chanson' from Trois autres mélodies is ready to face the world. It's been a long time coming, but at last it's here. There'll be an extract to listen to shortly too, but in the meantime, you can read the notes and have a look at the cover (and order it, too, if you're super-keen!). It's arranged for high voice, vibraphone and tape, but this is fairly flexible - sung an octave lower, it works fine for a lower voicetype (our extract will be sung by Caitlin herself, who is a contralto), and the score comes with two versions of the tape part - one which is just the tape part and other of which incorporates the vibraphone part too, which can be used either for performance, should a vibraphone not be available, or simply for ease of practice for the singer.

Remembrances of Half-Forgotten Dead People. Yes, I know it's not a new piece. But it is revised, and now available for tenor voice as well as soprano. We're also considering starting up a store based on licensed PDF downloads for scores via lulu.com, so if you'd be interested in this, please leave a comment with your thoughts. Still hoping to be able to use a service such as Lulu's printing options for printed scores, but at the moment - at least until such a service starts up in Australia or NZ or Lulu get around to organising a plant in that region - printed scores would really be prohibitively priced for most of our customers.

Minim Music & New Media is proud to announce a forthcoming new publication - 2 by 4 by Caitlin Rowley.
2 by 4 continues Rowley's series of "Eggs", short piano pieces appropriate for either public or private performance, and consists of four two-part inventions which can be played on either piano or harpsichord.
While owing a fair amount to the two-part inventions of JS Bach, these pieces are far from pastiche. They show off the simplicity of Rowley's individual musical style to advantage, highlighting counterpoint and allowing the performer to revel in the beauty of the sound of the instrument and individual lines playing off against each other.
